This portage was intensely burned from the last fire in 2021. It really is an open field with all the underbrush from the 2018 fire now torched. Follow the rock cairns and the odd cut tree to the other side, or simply the path of least resistance. The west entrance has a new rock cairn built. The east entrance has a few live trees that survived the last fire and now have blazes to mark the way. The Park also added blue flagging the last time they were through here.
