The 2021 fire torched this portage and left many black standing dead trees that will make a big mess in the next few years. I cleaned it up with a handsaw in 2022. The trail was easy to follow since the packed trail must have maintained more moisture than the surrounding moss, and therefore did not burn and left a green strip through the forest (see photo). I freshen up the tree blazes at both ends so it is now easy to find.
