When approaching this portage on Rostoul Lake, don't be confused like I was, and paddled over to the cached / overturned aluminum fishing boats thinking this is the south end start of the trial. The trail starts about 100m northeast further into the bay. Due to the last forest fire in 2021, it is hard to see with the underbrush growing back thick. It has changed a lot since Vern's photo below. I marked it with tree blazes and orange flagging. I cleaned up the trail and made it passable, but expect more burned trees to fall over for the next few years. The north end of the portage has a fishing boat pulled up, so easy to find if you are paddling south from Gammon Lake.

This portage from Middle Lake into Rostoul Lake finally exits the 2018 burn area around the south end of Gammon Lake. The two "Middle Lake" portages are maintained by the local outfitter and are easy to find and follow.
