I approached this portage going west and found the entrance back in the trees from a muddy / reedy beach. It is now marked with a fresh tree blaze. The water was low when I went through so at normal lake levels you might be able to paddle right up to shore. This is the portage on the north side of the creek and not the "short cut" described by others to the south. This portage was not burned in the last fire in 2021. You will notice massive poplar and birch trees that are old growth since most of the Park has burned. It was cleared and an easy walk.

There are two portages on the south end of C Lake, one short 40m up and over slippery rocks (not shown on the PP map but located at the creek at the southern end of C Lake) or the 200m as shown on the PP map. We decided to take the 200m and it was flat and easy.

Approaching from the west, the unmarked takeout is on the right (south) side of the stream, just before the opening into a little chasm. It is not on the north side as shown on the canoe map. The trail climbs up a steep rocky, mossy slope before leveling out. It is short, but challenging. (measured at 42 metres)
