I cleared this portage in June of 2023, but found the Prairie Lake entrance hard to find. To fix this, I added a rock cairn on top of a large glacial erratic and a tree blaze. Should be easier to spot from the water. The rest of the portage is now cleared and easy to find when on it. Very dry walk with some up and down along granite ridges. No big trees down when I walked it. The west side entrance is marked with tree blazes.

The 1000 meters is really 1100 and trust me – we felt every one of those extra 100 meters! The trail wasn’t only hard to find (from Prairie) but much less traveled than the other two (North Prairie and Indian House) we’d already done.
