The Kawasachong landing is a rocky mess while the Townline end is more forgiving. For the most part this is an excellent, well maintained trail with a neat "rock walk" and is devoid of any big climbs. However, there is a long gradual climb if coming out of Townline Lake that can be a bit of a grind on a hot day since there still is no shade throughout.

This was a hot and buggy portage for us as we passed on through. The USFS has been doing some maintenance through here as there were timbers stacked by the lake for use on the previous portage and this one had gotten cleared nicely in the meanwhile.

Flat easy but long portage. Put on your hat and sun screen as this is a hot open portage through the burn area.

Long, rocky portage. Totally kicked our butts!

Just saw the note about a bees nest, happily we didn't encounter that. Not sure if it is still there? Other than its length, this portage isn't that daunting. It is pretty flat with minimal rocks/roots/etc. We single-portaged it and the canoe carriers didn't have to swap with their partners.

Some Elevation change-- as of this time, there was a underground bee's nest on the west side of the southern end of the portage, right on the lake.
