Like all trails right now, this is a sloppy, flooded mess. The rapids are pounding. There is a scenic rock face to the east of the trail we stepped off to go visit.

The portage landing is on the right side of the small creek which flows from Shell to Heritage. There is nothing remarkable about this portage, but Heritage is a quiet and beautiful lake since most traffic moves from Shell through Little Shell and on to Lynx, and most traffic which does come through Heritage is at the south end.
