The shortest and most straightforward portage of the "Ramshead route." On the southern end of this creek, though, there is also a challenging beaver dam - surrounded by rocks on both sides and obstructed by a huge white pine trunk. And in Ramshead itself, beware of the many reefs forming a line with the islands separating the north bay from the main lake. With wind these could be treacherous.
