The trail is confusing. People skilled in whitewater can follow the trail straight along the river to a beach below. It appeared that the lower section was runnable but I didn't actually see it so don't take my word for it. If you intend to portage the whole set of rapids, look carefully for the trail fork after a few hundred feet. The trail goes through the burn for the first bit, with many stepovers. Eventually climbs to clean bedrock. Steep sloping put-in on the downstream side. Tough portage; probably the hardest on this section of the Bloodvein.
