Definitely easier going from Amoeber to Knife. Landings aren't great. 3/5

Crumby landings on both ends. From Knife, the landing is kind of steep and the trail climbs quite steeply later as well. It then drops down (not as dramatically) to a very boulder strewn landing on the Amoeber end.

This little sonuvagun is mismarked at the east bay on the Fisher map, don't remember which one specifically. It's marked properly on PP and on my Garmin BWCA maps. There are false portages all along the north shore of the east bay (found 3 of them). The east bay is super shallow and swampy and smells lovely when you stick your paddle into the muck. Portage had some real elevation and left us out of breath. One of my least favorites in the BWCA so far.

A bit more elevation to overcome but all and all it's well maintained and short. Amoeber Lake is a gorgeous lake.

Took this portage coming from Amoeber and it wasn't bad at all compared to the Esther to Hanson and Hanson to Cherry portages. Note that the McKenzie map shows another portage in the narrow finger bay to the east of this one, but it doesn't exist.

A little work out here for sure. I didn't struggle with finding this one as the other commenter did. Maybe I just got lucky.
