Narrow goat trail. If we were younger and more experienced we might have checked out floating the canoe down the rapids from Ogish to King but alas we are not either of those. :) The area has returned nicely from the fires.

This was a nice portage through the '06 burn. It was fun seeing how the forest is coming back. The easy trail made it easier to focus on the scenery of the rapids next to the trail.

Nice path for this portage. Can be a little tricky to spot on the Ogish side before you start actually going down the creek. Seemed runable in an aluminum canoe, but not really worth the risk given the portage is easy. 1/5

The rapids were cranking when we came through early season. We took the portage. Wasn't difficult, though the fire changed the feel of this area a lot I am sure.

The portage may not even be necessary if water conditions in the creek are'nt too high. The Kingfisher makes for a good fishing and or swmming hole.ing hole. Otherwise, if the portage is needed, the trail is fairly nondescript. There are some fallen logs in the water on the Kingfisher end that may make getting out to the lake a little tricky.

Nice easy portage along a creek. As others have stated, keep an eye out for the portage. It is easy to paddle past it. We did.

When approaching from Ogish Lake, keep your eyes peeled to the North, the landing can sneak up on you, as it is hidden by brush/trees as you approach from the West. The current here will want to pull you along into the creek toward the lake to the East. Not so severe that you can't paddle against it to get back to the landing, but just be aware.

portage is on the north side of the creek and is easy - much easier than walking your canoes up the creek as we saw a large group attempting.
