Decent climbs. Wide, well traveled, great landings

This was our last portage from the beginning of Pine Lake heading west. The portage was average intensity with the elevation to consider. If you have weak legs this route is not for you.

Could be shorter, could be longer, but it was definitely and elevation change. Nothing too bad

Just as the others have said. There's a little elevation here, but it's not long and very pleasant overall.

A little steep in places, but easier than most of the portages in the area. Very scenic route besides. Made it through without too much difficulty.

nothing unusual here - good trail, not too much strain with the reward of mountain lake on the far side.

Echoing others here. Plenty of terrain but easily defined trail. Make time to climb to the BRT overlook on the west side. It was about a 40 minute detour for us, roundtrip.

From Clearwater to Mountain it is uphill until you cross the Border Trail. That said, it isn't too bad as it is short. Great landings on both sides. 3/5

Typical Gunflint area north/south orientated portage. The trail is well worn & usually in good shape but, the climb will get your blood pumping a bit. Outstanding overlooks can be viewed by hiking the BRT (trail intersects at the crest of this portage) in either direction, the one to the east is closer but the western view is more expansive.
