There appeared to be trails on both sides of the beaver dam. The water was high enough that we just pulled the canoe over the dam.

Water was high, but we had to still hop out for a moment.

We were also able to walk our canoe through. I seen no evidence of an actual portage trail. (We were there during a low water period)

I'm not sure where the 4 rod measurement comes from. When we were there, the water was high and it was a simple lift-over at a beaver dam.
