The marked portage is incredibly overgrown. We scouted north with no sign of passable trail. Instead, we pulled the canoe over the south side of the dam (very rocky area), then followed the hiking trail along the stream to the next navigable point.

It's pretty cool to keep crossing the Kek on this chain. This one had a little tough footing and was pretty brushy for me. Not too terrible though.

While not overly long, this portage has plenty of ankle turning rocks to avoid and a small hill. Also the Kekekabic hiking trail intersects. A nice veiw of the Chub river can be had from atop the hill.
