Took this portage on the staff training trip. The group took a vote and decided to tackle this portage and Peter instead of the smaller lakes to the south. This portage had an okay landing on the east before the trail started winding through brushy thicket. I remember one rough boardwalk section in the middle also. This portage had plenty of difficulty thanks to the fire.

From French Lake the trail soon crosses an expanse of boardwalk before climbing. The Peter end is more precipitous dropping steeply down to the lake. There is a large boulder at about mid trail that looked like a gorillas head.
