As noted, the French Lake landing isn't ideal, but the actual portage wasn't too bad.

We were travelling from west to east so there was no avoiding the French Lake landing. The beautiful rocks that come into view over French cover up the difficulty. Quite a pleasant portage when it was said and done.

Potentially treacherous landing on the French Lake end. From there the trail climbs over a slightly overgrown boulder strewn path before leveling off near the half way point to Powell.

Very very difficult landing with deep water on French Lake end. We were going to day trip into Powell..but took a pass on it.
