Coming from West Fern to Virgin, we got out too early in the tall grasses that others had clearly gone through. Paddle all the way into the bay to get to the real landing. It may not be possible in lower water situations, we didn't have trouble once we determined the real landing and decided to move the canoe.

There is quite a gain from the west through the burn. It's hot, open, brushy but not so bad. The chain is quite pretty with the open rocks and steep terrain.
