Nice landing on the Cross Bay side. Pretty walk in the woods that was fairly straightforward. The Rib side is rocky but not too bad.

There's a beautiful little falls nearby with a flat rock for sitting, eating a snack, and enjoying the scenery. There's a gentle landing on the cross side and the portage isn't too bad.

You could almost miss this portage. The landing is so bad that you wouldn't think a portage belongs here. Steep rock climb at the landing on the Rib Lake side. Cross Bay side is fine. Saw moose tracks.

As stated, the landing on the Rib side is very difficult to maneuver and load/unload gear. It definitely makes the list of one of the worst landings in the BWCA. The portage can get pretty soupy after a rain. 2/5

Absolutely terrible landing on the Rib end. Other than that not too much to worry about, fairly non-descript path. Trail was wet & rocky when we used it.
