Crooked to Owl: Similar to previous comments, but water levels were high, so the rockhopping was made more difficult by deep and slippery mud. A hiking pole or walking stick would be advisable to avoid falls.

After camping on Crooked the night before, my group made the decision to head out via Tuscarora. The first portage of the day was this one heading into Owl. As others mentioned, there are some tough stretches along this trail, but Owl lake is beautiful.

Both portages in/out of Owl have a lot of boulders to work around. They aren't hard portages, but they take a little more effort than otherwise expected.

The landings are fairly decent but, there is a need to play some boulder hopscotch at the Crooked end near the tiny creek that gurgles underfoot.

Not a bad portage. There is a stream about 1/2 way that requires careful footing. 2/5
