Was here in the midst of the '22 flooding and, while the trail was certainly muddy (ankle deep at worst), we didn't have any noteworthy issues doing this portage. The boardwalk on the Lizz end was more than sufficient.

Very muddy on Lizz end. Some boardwalks in the worst spots.

Fairly easy portage. The Lizz end looks like you will sink up to your neck in mud but it is actually pretty solid and stable. I would have tried to land the canoe and get out about 75 feet from the landing had a girl not been there to tell me that it was solid ground as I was contemplating where to land. The Caribou end is fantastic.

The Lizz side on this portage is pretty swampy. They have tried to put some logs here to help things out but they don't go far enough into the water. I sunk up to my knee when I stepped out of the canoe. The Caribou side is nice with plenty of room to load and unload. The portage itself has some rocks and mud but nothing out of the ordinary.

8/25/16 Lizz side had a muddy landing but the portage itself wasn't too bad. There were "bridges" built at different points to make this portage less muddy in the middle. 8/20/2017 The forest service sunk new logs in the mud on the Lizz-side landing. It is a big improvement over when I was through last year. It is still a little shallow, but manageable.

Route was muddy after a wet spring. Caribou side wasn't bad, but portage end at Lizz was very muddy from 15 feet on trail out to canoe drop area. You will be in mud while in the water packing/unpacking canoes.

It was a bit muddy on the Lizz end. Nothing hard, just a little sloppy.
