Not much of a trail when we were there. It was just after ice out and a stream was running down any remnants of the trail. Very overgrown and had several blowdowns until you get about halfway and then things cleared out but the trail turned into mud. Lots of fresh wolf tracks of all sizes too. Beautiful area but you'll work for it.

No longer maintained trail and appears on older Fisher Maps but not new. This is a worthwhile trip to an isolated and remote area. There are some tight areas, downed, trees and moose much but all in all not awful in difficulty. I videoed my route form north to south: this is the youtube link if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK1dk26lZI4&t=342s

A seldom used portage that needed some maintenance. My son and I cut a few downed trees, so it's easier now. The flooding this year has changed the creekbed, it now flows down the portage trail on the uphill segment. Some pretty deep mudpits at the top of the hill- mid-calf. Not for the faint of heart, but Finn was worth it!
