Steep, tight turns, rocks, roots, muddy...but not very long.

Very technical portage. Yes, it's short but the elevation change is steep, and some corners are difficult to make with a canoe. Some sloped rocks are very treacherous! Good luck!

The footing here was rough. Be careful with your footing on the way through.

Thought this portage was going to be a piece of cake. "37 rods...no problem!" Okay... it's basically straight uphill with tons of slippery rocks. We were coming from Omega heading into Kiskadinna, dreading the next portage which is about a 180 rodder. THIS portage was much more difficult than the long one!

It doesn't look like much on the map, but this dogs bite is much worse than it's bark. Starts out innocently enough on the Omega side. Soon it goes straight up then straight down with makeshift steps on the Kiskadinna side. As an added bonus, there are a couple of areas of solid rock face on the steep section of the trail that will likely be slippery when wet.
