This portage wasn't too bad for us coming from the Long Island side until the mid-portage creek and beaver pond. The rock face in the beaver pond is quite scenic on the east end.

You need to know what to look for to find the portage coming from Muskeg. Climb down over the beaver dam and walk along the rocky stream bed until the portage splits off to the right. Short and spooky, but pretty fun with the right mentality.

Tricky portage, especially the landing on the Muskeg side. When coming from Muskeg, you will see a large rock face and the portage is just to the left of it. Not really any landing area. You have to balance on a log, lift your packs etc. and then continue through a rocky stream area. Definitely one canoe at a time at the landing. Most of the rest of the portage is rocky as well. Watch your ankles! Lots of biting flies zooming around your head.
