Height of Land Portage - I expected more elevation change since this crosses the Laurentian Divide. Waters to the north are headed to Hudson Bay while waters to the south are headed to the Atlantic. It ended up being flat and brushy since the woods are cut back here along the border. There are pylons marking the international border at each end too. Dip a cedar branch in the water and sprinkle it on your crew to make them official voyageurs!

Unfortunately the international border folks got here recently and cut a big, unsightly swath along the border. The portage is flat and easy to tred.

historic "height of land portage". fun to experience tho different than i expected - flat, unremarkable trail. good landings, especially on the north lake side with a sandy beach.

A mostly flat well worn trail with a narrow boardwalk running over a length of the trail. The South lake side is a bit marshy, while the North lake side has a beautiful beach. Also there may be some ground plants overhanging the trail.
