When coming from the Nym side, the initial part of the trail is straight up. Once at the top, there are a few more ups-and-downs before the portage largely levels out and becomes a walk through the woods. Longish, but not technically difficult except at the north end. As mentioned in another comment, this portage crosses a "road". When traveling from north to south, the trail continues on the other side of the road, about 5 steps to the right.

Portage through the logging zone. The north 400 feet of trail are a gradually steeping series of hills heading up and down until the final plunge straight down to the pond below. This trail sees more moose than people.

Outside of the Park boundaries, looks like there's been recent (~5 years?) logging adjacent to the portage...aspen saplings encroaching on the trail. Go straight across when you hit the logging road. Trail is in good shape for one that gets little use.
