West end was still a beach even in the floods of May 2022, but the East end was not - you landed on the trail itself back in the woods. Pickerel was probably 4 feet high, based on the photos of the old logging equipment found here.

The north half is about as easy as it gets. The south half is steeper, rockier, still pretty easy. The trail was dry throughout when I went through. The landings at both ends are are sand beaches.

Good trail. We portaged east from Dore' to Pine Portage Bay.
