I've been in to the Beaverhouse access a couple times now...high water (2024) is definitely easier than low water (2021). Most of the trail is the old access road to the Quetico Lake dam...flat and easy. Can be muddy and buggy though. If you go in low water don't make my mistake and think that the stairs are the end...we stomped through the muck and grass to get to open water, only to find that the trail continued to the second landing.

610m portage, quite flat, road like, and easy going. Low water adds another 420m for just over a kilometer.

Low water levels meant an extra few hundred metres and, even then, lining the loaded canoes another ~150m into open water.

Easy! Sometimes wet and muddy though. Wheelbarrows are super useful

We went in this portage on August 6 and came out of it on August 9th. Just a hiking trail really. One spot was under water from a nearby pond. But really nothing terribly difficult. PS wheel barrel is for park rangers not portagers... we make their life more difficult if we move it from where they left it.

Flat east portage can get buggy. Someone left a wheel barrel on this portage which came in handy coming and going through here.

Did this one twice a year from 2013 to 2016. Nothing complicated about it. Just flat and a little longer than you expect. Can get buggy as it passes by some bogs.

about 400m and like walking down a road. Great portage for beginners.
