When going from Sturgeon to Lonely, there is one beaver dam to pull over before reaching the portage. When we passed through, there were five blowdowns that must have been very recent. Four of them could be stepped over or around. The fifth, closest of the five to the Sturgeon end, was a large white pine that I had to push the canoe over and pick up on the other side.
