West end of the portage was tricky to find; it's on the left side of the creek (map marks it on the right), about six feet above the water level; look for a pile of rocks and an old logging peavy marking the trailhead. After a tricky unloading on the west side, the east half of the portage leads you through an overgrown stretch of undergrowth...and right into a waist high patch of poison ivy! There is no way to complete this portage without walking through ~50m of poison ivy. Seriously. Wear long pants, long sleeves and plan to change your clothes when the portage is done. It's a mess.

West side of this portage is a little tricky. It is right next to the dam. Steep rocky bank. We used a couple large logs left over from the logging years to unload. They were slippery. Portage itself is an easy walk. Sturgeon side of the portage is a little muddy. Lots of remnants from the logging years. Neat to see the structure of the dams used flush logs down stream.
