Previous review must have missed the trailhead; we had no trouble finding this one in either direction. Trail was in good condition. That said...if you're planning on travelling from Trail Lake west toward Little Pine Lake, beware! Trail Creek was completely impassable in early August, even in a year when water levels were generally above average for that time of year. We struggled trying to drag the canoe through the grass and muck, eventually gave up and turned around...so we did this portage twice in the same day, in opposite directions.

Going east to west... Beaver dam. Estimated 500m. bushwhack thru tall grasses on floating bog to reach paddleable water on Trail Lake side. No sign of any real portage.
