Bitchu side a bit challenging to locate the actual takeout. Follow the creek upstream as far as you can go. Look for branches that have been sawn. Takeout is on the east side, significantly up the creek from the lake. Once on the portage, it is straightforward. Boats stashed here from an outfitter on the rocky Ross side. No real issues navigating it.

As was previously mentioned, McKenzie maps show this portage running all the way to Bitchu, but the access is within the creek. The landing was quite obvious when we got to it and the portage itself was uneventful.

Paddle Planner has this portage in the correct spot. Our map has it running to Bitchu proper (which the portage does, there is a landing there.) We took a bet that we could cut off some distance and paddled the creek a ways, hopping over some beaver dams on the way. When we hit the big log jam, we didn't find this landing for some reason. We ended up bushwhacking overland with the packs. Only when we reached the Ross end did we find the nice portage back to the creek. Oh well. Be warned though, finding the landing is a lot easier than the bushwhack.

Easy portage. Maintained by outfitter who has fishing boats stashed on Ross. There was a nasty paper wasp nest on the portage in August '15 and several in our group were stung.
