Though it's longer as a result of the disappearing "lake" and can be muddy, at least this portage isn't too technically challenging. I'd just say utilize as much of the portage as you can rather than pushing on in the boat or cutting it off early.

This portage started in the thick grass. The portage turns into the swamp a short ways into the trail. From there it became kinda difficult to follow for awhile. Portage was very wet and muddy for us.

This was a long one. We traveled South to North. We needed all of the 'extra' side trail to bypass what is left of the 'lake'. Some muddy/marsh areas. Not too difficult, just long. Overall, I would guess in the ballpark of 300 rods one way. Taking the Cones and Cliff was much easier on the way out.
