NO LONGER A PASSABLE PORTAGE. I pushed through over 100 rods on a barely visible trail with LOTS of tree fall. With about 30 rods to go, in the deepest, darkest portion of the most miserable mud trench, the trail goes cold. With how faint the trail was leading to this point, and the total lack of any trail or sign of an old trail, the imminent danger of getting lost in a place where nobody would find me became undeniable and I had no choice but to turn back. I can't stress enough, stay away unless the ranger station says it's been cleared. I spent 5 minutes turning circles and getting a little disoriented before turning back. I later found out the trail has not been maintained in 10 years, per the Cache Bay ranger station.

This is a real doozy. Difficult, long, slippery rocks, long, trench crossings, and long. Several downed trees along the way with no good walk-arounds.
