We were tired at the end of a long day and the pervious day had done the Trant>Silence series...the western Meadow - Agnes portage was underwhelming, making us fear that this one would be a doozy. Was not to be... We were through in 20 minutes (single carry) including a short break (3/4 of the way through - if we knew how close we were we would have just finished without stopping. At the end, one of the guys said "nothingburger".

"Big Agony" as a nickname. The longer of the 2 portages from Sunday to Agnes and certainly the more challenging one. Boy scouts have done some nice maintenance on it creating stone walking "beds" periodically.

Wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Be careful on the rock slope step up at the beginning...one of ours carrying the 20 ft canoe, banged a tree, lost control and the canoe came down on her hand & thumb, tore some ligaments. I took over and using my carry/rest method, got over ok.

By itself, this portage wouldn't be so bad, and combined with the Agnes/Meadows portage, it feels pretty long. Good landings on either end. Requires a certain zen-like approach so soon after the previous carry.
