Not to bad. a little longish and the one slippery rock. We went from Sheridan to That Man direction. Trail was clear and pretty easy walk. The beginning of the portage on Sheridan was not easy to find. It's wellbefore the end of the cove and not a big landing. It was the first major portage of our trip and food packs were full. So it was time consuming and for us with the triple portage.

Longish portage. There's a couple of places that make you think you are nearing the end heading to Sheridan that are just clearings over the pond in the middle. Pretty falls and lots of wildflowers along the way. The rock face is difficult. There was a tree down preventing me from going around it to the side like I did last time. Slid down 3 times before making it to the top due to wet rock and no real toeholds. They have done a lot of work to make it a better trail since the last time we went through. It would probably be easier going from Sheridan to That Man as it would be more downhill that way.

This portage was basically nonexistent for us, especially on the Sheridan side. Tons and tons of blowdown damage. I literally crawled on my hands and knees under trees with my canoe balancing on my shoulders. I have never seen anything like it. Hopefully it has been cleared since; it was no problem in 2015

This was cleared of a major blowdown event in mid-summer 2016. The take out from That Man was difficult to find (due to blowdown), but the trail was good.

Depending on water levels or how much rain has fallen, the first part of the portage coming from Sheridan could be a little muddy. Otherwise this is a long easy portage with gradual elevation change. There is a sloped rock surface about half way through that could be a little tricky on a wet day.
