Not a bad portage at all. Easy path and OK landings. You'll be over this one before you know it. 2/10

Easy little portage, but we have some negative connotations for it. Always some kind of adventure! In the morning, we were turned back from Cherokee Creek with ice completely locking it in. The beaver pond north of the portage was also iced up all the way from the previous portage but, with an hour of work, we broke through to here. Our hope being that Weird Lake would still be open and we could get to our second car on Baker. It was not to be. Weird Lake was completely frozen over and we turned north again. That said, it was an easy portage and a Mink came along while we were there and actually hopped in our canoe for a couple of seconds before heading on.

Nice easy portage - mckensie maps show it as about 80 rods - but 55 seems about right. There is a beaver dam above the portage you need to get over.

Rocky in places, but the gradient is barely noticeable. Good trail on west side of the river.
