Yes, it is a longer portage for the area with some ups and downs but it isn't too difficult. The waterfall in the middle is a great stopping point. We double-portaged and enjoyed the walk in the woods without any gear.

Uff-Da! This portage was a beast with a 60 pound portage pack and aluminum canoe! Had to take a couple of breaks. For people with young kids and/or elderly people, don't hesitate to double portage this one.

I don't remember this being too bad. It's long, but mostly pleasant and there are some cool waterfalls near the middle. It's not very hilly, and, at least mid-season 2019, was well kept. The landings are fine. The west end of the portage is especially beautiful. We had our last lunch of the trip sitting on rocks under the shade of huge pine trees. Happy paddling!

By far the toughest portage in the Kawishiwi triangle area. Lots of minor obstacles (rocks, roots, hills etc.) that add up over the length of this portage. There is a beautiful waterfall near the mid-point, well worth a side trip if time allows. muddy landing on east end, west end is open & scenic with large pines and trails to explore the rapids.

The are just a couple workable obstructions. Long but in decent shape. Good boardwalks over lower areas. It goes up and down a couple times -- don't get too excited when you descend for the first time.

Horribly overgrown portage!!! Looks like no-one has traveled this for months or years. We didn't take canoes through, just walked the entire length looking for the water fall. Water fall is about in the middle. Too large to play in the water. Possibly at the bottom, but there is a lot of water flowing over it!!! The trail has tree branches grown across the trail at head height. You have to keep your arms up to keep the branches off your face. 2 trees down across the trail. One would require a boat bender to get a canoe past. Seriously, unless you can get the canoe more than 8 feet high over the tree, or can fit it into a 14" gap under, you aint getting the canoe through there!! There are board walks over certain areas....but not sure why. The areas are the only easy parts of the path. I'm sure at some point someone will go through and cut the trees out of the way. I would just think of this as a hiking path back to the water falls.

Long, well traveled portage. No big obstacles other than the distance.

Long well used portage. We went the right direction going east to west, it was all down hill.

Rather long portage but not especially difficult. Not steep or too rocky - straight forward longish walk.
