I will second everything Tuscarora said. I urge you to put the gear down and enjoy the rapids before you walk past them. with low enough water levels, they're worth enjoying a little exploration. Just be safe.

Apparently carrying a canoe sans-hands is really amusing to some people. I was just going about my business single portaging on two trips since I wasn't in a rush. They sure were impressed with my canoe hauling! Hehe. Just doing my thing, but the encouragement feels nice nonetheless. Pretty portage with some moving water above and below

Good landing just above the head of these extensive rapids. A nice run of boardwalk is soon encountered before giving way to a rolling trail that was surprisingly free of mud & moisture (I was here in early spring during flood stage.) There is a neat little bridge that passes over a mini-gorge & the trail skirts the most prominent rapids near the mid-point. The only real hill in near the end of the trail where the rapids wash out. However, there are some strategically placed boulders that serve as steps - the gradient isn't severe. While this portage is certainly over 100 rods, the ever-changing terrain and scenery do a great job making this one seem to go by quickly.
