Low water levels on Little Gabbro mean a very mucky put in. Otherwise pretty reasonable for a long portage.

As should be expected for an entry point trail, this is a wide well worn portage. While none of the climbs are severe, (regardless of direction)there are a few long gradual climbs along the way. Lots of knobby boulders near the lake end and there are a couple of minor wet/mushy spots, the worst being near the lake. Decent landing.

Easy portage, id even go as far to say pleasant! Wide, straight, gentle slopes, and only two spots i could see getting mucky if the weather stays wet.

Super frequently used. About twice as long as I'd care to haul Ol' Ironsides, but lighter boats should be fine. Gentle ups and downs, plus a few muddy patches and anklebreakers. Little Gabbro landing is huge.

VERY nice path. Gravel at the parking lot half. Some minor rocks. Gentle hills. A long portage bet very easy to travel even loaded down. Great end to a 7 day trip. I was expecting a 2 hour walk - going back a second time for the rest of the gear - but it only took an hour to traverse. Surprisingly pleasant portage for being so long.

straight forward, well maintained, heavily used portage trail. wide, flat (a few rocks here and there but othing to fret about), very gradual easy up and down and you're there. longish depending on your skill level.
