Truly a beautiful walk in the woods! Cliffs, small caves, old growth, foliage...just about everything. I hope to return again.

Truly a gem of a portage! This is a lovely little hike through beautiful terrain and whichever way you're heading you end up on a stunning lake deep in the heart of the BWCA.

This is a fine portage. Do NOT make the mistake of thinking there can't possibly be a portage along that cliff, when in Beaver, going to Adams, and trying to use the "lost portage" from the cove to the southeast. That portage is blocked off for a reason. It doesn't exist anymore. You can't make it. Use this portage as marked on the map and paddleplanner. Don't ask me how I know!

This is now my favorite portage I have ever been on. We took it from Beaver to Adams and I was amazed at every corner. There is a huge cliff on the Beaver end and cliffs lining the rest of the portage. One progresses into a beautiful cedar swamp, a boulder field, a pretty staircase, a series of caves (one of which had ice in it still from last winter!), a huge patch of ferns, and views at every turn. What a beautiful place.

Beautiful portage complete with a neat little stone staircase and large boulders and rock walls. Climbs slightly to Adams but, really is a pleasant portage. There is a panoramic overlook of Beaver Lake if you have the energy to bushwhack to the top on that end.

Pretty much down hill from Adams. It has some nice stairs.

Kind of tricky to find the portage going from Beaver to Adams. Yes, there is a path along the base of that cliff.
