From Ruby to Lynx, this portage was a breeze. Pretty much downhill the entire way. We flew through it, and even the walk back really wasn't that bad. Scenic too. The Voyageur map rates this a L8.5(/10) difficulty which I thought was a bit much, closer to a 7/10 which would only really bump up to an 8 if you were carry your gear eastward up the hill, and even then it's an endurance thing, not technically difficult.

Pretty steep from Lynx to Ruby for the first half. Second half was much better. Long overall but well-defined.

Landing on the Lynx side is partially obscured by two large rootballs. This was one of the most challenging portages of our 2021 loop - partially due to the undulating terrain, but mainly the heat. It feels longer than the rated length. Birding along the hike was fantastic.

The landing can be difficult to find from Lynx as there is a large tree down. Look for the tree if it hasn't been cleared up and large exposed rocks that the tree uprooted. A bit steep and muddy from Lynx going into Ruby.

Long portage. We ended up leap frogging this portage with our gear. Halfway through the portage we noticed wolf prints on the muddy section and on our return found fresh wolf poop.

The nice landing on Lynx is no more - it was blocked by a huge root ball from a large fallen tree. You can squeeze in from either side now. this is a long portage with a fair amount of climb. A creek crossing on smooth wet rock can also be interesting when the water is up. The landing on Ruby is shallow.
