Despite any temptation to fight through Home Creek, we took the portage. We had already been portaging a lot by this point coming in from South Hegman (pretty sure everyone who takes this portage has portaged plenty already.) That said, it wasn't that pad. We made sure the whole group got through okay and took our time loading on the Gull end.

Single portaged this in under 30 minutes. Moderately long but mostly easy walking. Some elevation to deal with but overall probably easier than the average 1300 meter portage in the BWCA.

Fairly brutal in a downpour, but overall not bad. As mentioned, it can get confusing with the trail intersection. Also, accessible from the campsite on Home.

Trail was in excellent shape. The Angleworm hiking trail intersects this portage, so don't turn off down either of those paths. The biggest challenge is the landing on the Gull Lake end.

When traveling toward Gull Lake, be sure to continue forward on the main trail. This portage is crossed by the Angleworm hiking trail and it's possible to wander off if you're not paying attention. It's a long trail with some ups and downs, but not particularly difficult. The landing on Gull is steep and slippery rock, so watch your step.
