Take the portage trail (not ski trail) up from Aspen, Then walk down the campground road to the public access.

This is not a portage! Where it tells you the portage is on the map is actually someone's private property. We went back to the boat drop in and found a "trail". This is what once was a trail, is now very overgrown with plants. We made it work but it was not easy.
