Long drawn out slope that runs uphill from Deer/ downhill from Clearwater. Its history as a road grade is very apparent and make it a fairly easy pass through. Definitely seemed longer than my map had advertised, but no bother. It was a nice view of Caribou at the end.

Was coming from Caribou to Clearwater. From the Caribou/Deer split to Clearwater, many rocks and plenty of mud in the trail. It is more level than the other options out of Clearwater, but expect to put some work in here nonetheless.

Took the portage from Clearwater to Deer. The first section (from Clearwater to the split to Caribou) is rocky and muddy, but relatively flat. The second portion (from the split to Deer) is very flat and a great area to find mushrooms. Maps will say the second part is 140 rods, I think that is short by about 60 rods. 2/5
