A very straight-forward, well-traveled medium-sized portage. Nothing too rocky or hilly but some gradual ups-and-downs. The entry from Disappointment can have wind issues with a SE wind. But nothing too difficult.

This portage is long and has rocks and roots with a good amount of elevation. We found that since there had been a bit of rain that it was muddy in spots but not anything that caused issues. Nice landings on Sanowbank and Disappointment sides. Hiking trail cuts next to portage on Disappoinment side and is nice to hike. Beaver swimming close to Disappoinment landing. Arrowheads and flint knapping were at the Snowbank landing. Cool if you have time to look!

Uphill going into Disappointment. A little tricky pulling a sled. Four or five 'bend downs.' Probably not too bad during the summer. 3/5

Mostly level walk. As of Sept 2016 there was a tremendous amount of blowdown. Halfway along the portage it looked like a tornado came through. The whole area from Snowbank to Thomas was like that though, must have been a heck of a storm.

The elevation change is so gradual... it is barely there. Nice, wide, good landings, well traveled
