Pretty rocky landing/first few rods on the Poplar side. Not a bad little warm-up portage.

Rocky on Poplar end. Not a bad portage. Typical rocks and mud. Boardwalks help.

Overall this is an easy portage. The first 100 feet or so going from Poplar to Lizz is uphill but levels out. You cross the Banadad Ski Trail half way across. On the Lizz end you have a nice dock with a plank walk way going through the muddy part leading up to it. On 9/20/17 they actually extended the plank walkway another 20 feet or so.

Dock on the Lizz side makes this easy. Poplar side is a little rocky but manageable. Trail has some mud spots and rocks, but nothing too difficult here.

8/25/2016 Nothing too crazy here. A little rocky on the Poplar side. A breeze caught my canoe after I unloaded it and almost pulled it away from me back into the lake. I can confirm the water drops off quickly :) 8/20/2017 The forest service built a dock this year on the Lizz side which makes loading and unloading a piece of cake.

Easy. Little drop off into water on the Poplar side. Lizz side has a better landing. Nice portage overall
