in 2023 we made the decision to skip the 188 rod portage into agnes and chose to take this river to bypass and we seriously regretted it. we were forced to cross 10-15 beaver dams between here an Oyster lake, and the south 100 yards of this 'river' was an absolute bog, too soft to stand on, too firm to paddle or swim though. literally the hardest 100 yards of distance I have traversed in the BWCA. Heading north (upsteam)
