This site really grew on us. The fire grate is a bit far back from the water, which was the biggest downside, but it has a great out rock that is perfect for hanging out and start gazing. We had good luck fishing for walleyes on shell lake, but nothing from or around camp.

I agree with Bens ratings and comments. The only thing I would add is that the evening sun and sunsets are great from the rock shield. Also, fishing is limited as it is very shallow out from camp. The best tent pad is away from shore and in in some bushes. Tarp setup if required is a challenge due to tree spacing but doable with long cords.

Big sloping shield makes for a tough landing. Ok site with a fire pit back away from the lake. A few pads under some impressive pines.

The campsite is set in the midst of towering red pines. The roots from these trees snake through the entire campsite, though, making the ground very uneven - not too mention tripping all the time over them. Despite this, I really liked the campsite. The landing and swimming area is a rock ledge with a drop off. The main tent area is back behind the kitchen. It is a big open area. However, there really aren't many places to put tents because of all the roots. There is another tent pad right next to the kitchen.
